SAN JUAN DEL SUR NICARAGUA

A World Vets team will travel to beautiful San Juan del Sur Nicaragua to put on a field condition spay/neuter clinic and also provide medical consultations.  This is a great trip for students to learn and practice surgical techniques.  Dr Karen Allum of Pennsylvania will be the trip leader on this project.

ROATAN, HONDURAS

This is our annual trip to Roatan, Honduras.  As in past years, we will be providing free spay/neuter services as well as lots of medical consultation.  This is a great trip for students to learn and practice surgical techniques.  Dr Winnie Krogman from New Hampshire is the project leader for this trip.

NOSARA COSTA RICA

GRANADA, NICARAGUA

  • World Vets, working in collaboration with New Mexico veterinarian Dr Tom Parker, held an equine clinic for working horses in Nicaragua.  Services included teeth floating, hoof care, castrations, deworming, external parasite control, vitamin injections and education.  Over 50 horses were treated.

PANAMA
  • Date: April 17-24, 2008
  • Days: 8
  • The University of Panama, the Health Ministry, the Community Council and Spay/Panama organized a sterilization blitz on May 18, 2008, to control the number of homeless animals.  World Vets volunteer Christie Gilbert worked with 5 Spaypanama vets, 10 Panamanian vet students and local volunteers.  One hundred three animals were sterilized.   Additional surgeries were perfromed at the clinic in Panama City.


GORGONA PANAMA
  • Date: April 17-24, 2008
  • Days: 8
  • Five veterinarians from Spaypanama along with local volunteers and World Vets member Gary Starke held a spay blitz at Gorgona/San Carlos.    A total of 203 animals were sterilized.

UTILA HONDURAS

  • Thirteen World Vets volunteers provided free veterianry care on the island of Utila Honduras.  Services included sterilization surgeries, medical consultations and house calls.

ISLA GRANDE PANAMA
  • Date: 2007
  • Days: 8
  • World Vets, working in collaboration with SpayPanama, held a free sterilization clinic on the very small and remote island of Isla Grande, Panama.  As part of multi-day blitz covering 3 villages, 169 animals were spayed and neutered.

HONDURAS

  • A World Vets team traveled to Utila, Honduras for a combined equine and small animal project.  World Vets volunteer Barb Taylor headed up the equine project and provided education and training on hoof care and trimming.  A local resident was trained in hoof trimming and equipment was donated so the work could carry on after we left.   


CAYE CAULKER BELIZE

A World Vets team will provide a community wide spay and neuter clinic to help control the companion animal population as well as contribute to the prevention of zoonotic diseases.
