    Continuing Promise is a humanitarian assistance operation supported by US and international military medical personnel,  US government agencies, partner nations, NGO's and US academic institutions.  Volunteers live on board a Navy ship.  2010  projects include Small Animal, Livestock, Public Health and Education.  Locations include Haiti, Colombia, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Guyana and Suriname. IBARRA ECUADOR

A World Vets team, working in collaboration with PAE and Ecuadorian veterinarians will hold a large scale sterilization campaign for companion animals. This project is supported by the Fondation Brigitte Bardot of Paris, France.

BAJA MEXICO (Loreto)
  • Date: October 19 - 26, 2010  All Position Types Still Available
  • Days: 8

This trip is a spay/neuter project in Loreto, Baja Mexico.  We expect to do ~200 surgeries during the project.  The group will be working in a clinic operated by Animalandia, a local animal welfare group.  Dr. Karen Allum of Pennsylvania is the trip leader.   Read more...

BAJA MEXICO (Loreto)

    This trip is an equine project in Loreto, Baja Mexico.  Volunteers can expect to visit horse ranches and be involved in castratoins, teeth floating, deworming, vaccinations, wound treatments, health exams. Dr. Liz Bracken, a resident of Loreto, is the trip leader.

BUZAU ROMANIA

A World Vets team will travel to Buzau Romania to provide a spay neuter clinic as well as medical consultations with local animal welfare groups. And spend Halloween in Transylvania at Draculas Castle!

TANZANIA

 World Vets will send a team to Tanzania, Africa to provide aid to a local donkey  sanctuary.  Donkey carts are an important means of transportation in this region and our team will provide veterinary care, education and training that will lead to improved welfare of these animals.  This is a pilot project and the first trip will be closed.


GRANADA NICARAGUA
  • Date: November 13- 20, 2010
  • Days: 8

World Vets will send a team to Granada, Nicaragua; one of the first colonial towns to be established in the Americas. The team will put on a spay neuter clinic at local nonprofit veterinary clinic Casa Lupita as well as perform equine work.

ROATAN HONDURAS

This is our annual trip to Roatan, Honduras.  As in past years, we will be providing free spay/neuter services as well as lots of medical consultations.  This is a great trip for students to learn and practice surgical techniques.

World Vets will send a small team to Black Stallion Mountain on the edge of the Gobi Desert to provide veterinary care to ruminants (goats, sheep, yak, camels) and horses.
